I have never priced separate (UPS) components, but this sounds like a project which has some merit. My first concern would be finding an inverter which can handle the large current load of a typical audio rack, and run the projector, while outputting a pure AC sine wave and a consistent 120 volts. Thanks for the idea. My wife is going to hate this new experiment in the garage....
the idea of building my own UPS intrigues me, and goes along an existing desire to power my A/V gear with a pure AC signal at a constant 120 Volts.
Any advantages to using an isolation transformer, and not bonding the neutral and ground together (2 pole 120 Vac), and having a separate ground rod "Not" tied to the house ground for the A/V circuits?
