UN55C9000 worth it if cheap enough?

I wasn't really thinking of getting 3D yet but I have an opportunity to buy the UN55C900 with BluRay player kit for $2900. From what I see, this is a pretty good discount from what's normally out there. Is the 2D on this TV pretty good?

I happen to need TVs in two rooms so I was thinking of getting two of these and that would give me four glasses that I could move between rooms. That would also cut down on the amount of glasses I might need overall.

Any thoughts?

It's a very sexy piece of kit. It's that slim you wouldn't want to wall mount it just so people can see how ridiculous this thing is.

In the UK they are huge cash £4k ($6,500) and I just couldn't warrant that. I know the tech spec to mine (UE55C7000) is very simialr and the 2D quality is fantastic. It is very sharp in all lights and the blacks are very good.

As a 2D picture I haven't seen better. I didn't do a full demo on this kit purely because it was out of my price range but if I was you'd I'd definitely have a very close look at it.
I've read that the 9000 has fewer options than the 8000, that's it more like the 7000.

It actually a step down from 8000 so that is true

If it's a step down why does it cost more? And the naming convention makes it screwy too then.
It costs more because it has the metal frame and is super thin and comes with a touchscreen remote.

Get 55C8000 instead. Plasma is better but if you need LCD for some reason then the 8000 is still better.
OK. I thought maybe it'd be good at that price point but doesn't sound like it.

Thanks for the advice.
That's exactly what Samsung wants people to believe. Just because its more expensive doesn't mean its better. The 8 series is superior to it.

BTW, there isn't a better between plasma and LCD. In my opinion my Samsung LED has better picture quality then my V25. Yes the Panasonic has deeper blacks but not by much. The Samsung has a cleaer picture then the Panasonic. And ive had them side by side already.

there is no such thing as a clearer picture when it comes to LCD's, it's the fake HZ processing that makes it look smooth. I'm not knocking your preference, I think the 120hz and up makes it look fairly nice. But if you wanted a true representation of how a film looks, plasma's possess that, LCD's do not. You won't notice film grain and things on an LCD like you would a plasma.
