I have a jvc receiver with 5 speakers hooked up to it. 2 on right. 3 on left (with one channel being wired in parallel). The sound is really strong on the two speakers on the right, but the speakers on the left are almost inaudible.


Im using 2x 8 ohm speakers on the left, and the same two on the right, but in parallel. The other channel on the right is hooked up to a sub.

Receivers are not generally designed to power a subwoofer and the two speakers connected in parallel and are seen as 4Ω speakers, again drawing too much power. Get a powered sub and connect the speakers as designed.

Hmm, i always thought that less impedance meant less power drawn.


But i guess a decrease in resistance means an increase in current, which means more power.
