my house is a slab am i under standing this will pass code because its is a branch circuit?

One of the labs I was in at hewlett packard used this for primary power and data during the late 80s. One afternoon I was sitting at my desk and rolled my chair back to get up. Flames shot up out of the carpet between my legs. Over the next several months they rewired the entire lab with above ground conduit.


The stuff worked, but the problem was that it needed to be placed in areas which did not get a lot of traffic. My chair unfortunately was right over where two different phases crossed. The wheels caused a lot of pressure to be exerted and eventually the phases shorted. Don't place it in an aisle. High heels exert more force/sq in than my chair ever did. Other than that, feel free if codes allow it.
