Last night my ShowStopper with 3.0 hung while I was deleting a channel that was currently recording. After a minute or so, the system rebooted itself and everything seemed to be OK.


Is rebooting an unusual circumstance? Have others had this happen? Its only the first time for my system, but I'm curious if I've just been lucky.

Were you deleting the channel that was being recorded or just stopping the recording?

Sequence was: I noticed that a recording was occurring, went to the channel list (not the IPG) to see what it was, selected play, quickskipped forward (which turned out to stop at "Live TV" -- it had just started), determined I didn't want the recording, went back to the channel list, selected the same entry, and then selected "Delete". The recording stopped, the entry within the list was NOT removed, and the system was hung.

I've seen a similar thing since the 3.0 release. I tried to change channels, saw that a recording was in progress, went to the ReplayGuide and deleted it and at that point it locked up for a little while then rebooted. I know that I often do this with no problems.

The freezing up is essentially what happened to me. I let it sit for awhile, and was trying to decide if I should cycle the power (unplug/plug) when it rebooted by itself. Next time perhaps you should wait a few minutes and see if it corrects itself.

Just an FYI for the Replay Guys. I have reported this problem to the CQF team before, but thought it had been fixed because I haven't seen it since the final of 3.0.


It only happened to me if I went to the Replay Guide and deleted a currently recording show WITHOUT stopping the recording first. I was happending quite often to me, but as I said since the 3.0 release I haven't seen it on my machine.
