I need to get my projector up on the ceiling to play with the screen I've ordered, which ends up where I want it if I either drop my projector 5" or hang it at a 2 degree angle (this is within Sony's throw angle limits). I prefer the later (8' ceiling, 16" projector, a few inches for hush box clearance, a few more for insulation) Has any one done this?

Various thoughts along these lines are

- Rubber washers. I want more rigidity.

- A cone or ball shaped surface (like a bicycle cone nut or push-rod V8 rocker ball) which will be self-centering inin a mounting hole, tolerate mis-alignment, and allow for rigid clamping.

Drew, It is a little difficult to determine exactly what you are asking. There are a number of threads in the construction section of AVS along with pictures of how to mount using Unistrut. If you are mounting the unistrut directly to your projector, a 2 degree angle is only about a 3/4" drop over 20 inches. This is clearly within normal adjustment using unistrut and standard bolts. Not sure why you would need rubber washers or self centering nuts.

You may want to describe your mounting problem a little more.
