Universal just announced the release dates for one of my favorite movies of all time; "The Game"! and others.

After a dearth lasting almost three months, Universal Studios Home Entertainment will at last issue new disc titles on HD DVD with the April 17 release of 'The Jerk' and 'The Game.'
Both titles will hit the format with the usual 1080p/VC-1 encoded video transfers and Dolby Digital-Plus 5.1 surround tracks. Extras are slim, however, with theatrical trailers on each, plus "lost" footage and an interactive tutorial on 'The Jerk.' (Note that 'The Game' will feature none of the bonus features found on the extensive Criterion DVD edition released a few years back.)
Universal has set a list price of $29.98 list price for 'The Game,' and $34.98 for 'The Jerk,' which will also be a HD DVD/DVD combo release.
Though Universal's return to announced HD DVD titles is certainly good news for format supporters, the studio's upcoming lack of new releases remains surprisingly thin. Beyond this week's HD DVD debut of 'Brokeback Mountain,' there are no other announced titles by the studio before this April 17 wave, except for 'Half Baked' and 'Hollywoodland' this February. Not exactly the strongest support for what is now the only major studio left exclusively backing HD DVD -- we hope to see that change soon.
