I have recently constructed a cat5 vga cable for use with my HTPC and projector. Unfortunately, all I had available was unshielded cat5, but I decided to try anyway. Well, it didn't work very well (the picture was kind of squished to the right side, maybe by 25% or so.) I didn't notice any ghosting when I fired up a DVD though.
Any ideas on what could be wrong? I checked the connections of each individual pin, and they look fine. I would just assume this is an impedence problem, which could be solved by the correct cabling.
So, does anyone know a local source in Raleigh, NC that I could pick up some STP this weekend?
Thanks,
Dave
