I'd appreciate some advice. Can I add an OTA antenna with an integrated diplexer, like the Terk TV-42, and then take the ouput from that, which includes the combined satellite/antenna signal, and put it into my two LNB inputs on my multiswitch, bypassing the antenna input on the multiswitch? Will that work?

Has anyone done this? If this won't work, does anyone have any other suggestions?

Thanks!

wxwx,

I have not done the exact setup that you describe with the Terk42, but

I woluld add another diplexer in reverse in the line just before the multiswitch.

Then connect one output of the reversed diplexer to the LNB input and the

other output of the reversed diplexer to the antennae input on the multiswitch.

This should give you the distribution capability that I think you are looking

for.

I assume you want to do this because you don't want to run the antenna cable from the roof to the multiswitch? If that's the case, you can try what your suggesting, but the results might be sketchy. The LNB inputs on a multiswitch should be a straight line from the dish with nothing in between. Remember, there is a voltage (13 or 18 VDC) that sets the LNB to pick up one set of transponders or the other. Even with diplexers to route the voltage, you're adding an element that the design does not account for.
