If the HD-A20 supports 1080p 24 output, will this result in a better picture for the 768p Panny 50PH9UK?
The specifications for the 50PH9UK say:
"Supports 1080/60i, 1080/50i, 1080/24p, 1080/24sf, 1080/25p, 1080/30p, 720/60p, 720/50p, 480/60p, 480/60i signal compatibility"
So it looks like it accepts a 1080p 24 input (via the HDMI board I'm thinking), and then it scales it to its native resolution.
My question is (since I already own an HD-A2), would an A20 with 1080p output look better on my plasma than the A2? You would think that an A2 outputting 1080i to the plasma and it having to de-interlace it couldn't be as good as the plasma just having to scale the 1080p input of an X20. Thoughts? Does the 8th gen HDMI board even support 1080p inputs?
