Are the new upconverting dvd players worth investing in for a 34in crt? i have a sony 480p home theatre now and i'm wondering how much of a difference i would experience with the new upconverting dvd players.. thanks..

The new upconverting players all have several problems like macroblocking. I find the classic high quality Faroudja-based progressive players like the Panasonic XP30 are still the best, especially for CRT HDTVs.

Thanks for your reply.. i'm not sure what to believe as some feel it makes a big difference while others feel isn't noticable or causes artifacts..
