Since the original thread was closed because of trolling & bickering, we couldn't discuss the list there. So, here again is the list. Some of us hadn't seen it yet. Last update Jan. 11, 2007.

I hadn't realized Ghost in the Shell was Bandai. w00t!

I'm also looking forward to Battlestar Galactica, Blade Runner, Dark City, Pride & Prejudice, Scarface, The Star Treks, Se7en, The Matrix, A Clockwork Orange, 2001: A Space Odyssey, etc.

Oh and maybe we'll really get that HDScape HD DVD Sampler by next month.
(I ordered it a month or two ago.)

Any way to export as an xls?

Not sure. When I cut, I just get the data without tabs. So if I paste into an Excel file all the data for each line goes into one cell. Probably not what you're looking for.

Anyway, here's the raw text .

Yeah. Looking good.

I wonder if it's going to be the theatrical or the extended version. I suspect the former. I'm not sure if I want to buy the former.

I don't see ANYTHING new at all on this list.

The dated movies are the same ones on dozens of HD DVD lists. The undated ones are the same ones we've seen for months listed as "anticipated" HD DVD movies. And some of the undated movies on this list have already come out which means it's not really up-to-date.

I don't get it.

Explain how any of this is "new" information?

I count 144 major studio releases for 2007, of which Universal offers 24.

I attached a more usefully formatted list

Thanks, but what happened to all the other titles?

With the 300 looking like it is worldwide from what Amir has said, the US could get half that and they could still make it. I would be very surprised if Universal only did 24 in 2007 though.

So far so good! The list is nice.. .but how many will we really see in North America? There are many many titles on there iam excited about!
Great list just wish they had some dates. Grindhouse looks awesome
There will be far more releases than this list, as it doesn't even include any newer films in 2007. There will no doubt be more new films like Bourne Ultimatum, Grindhouse, Hot Fuzz, The Kingdom, Smokin Aces, The Hitcher (all those exclusive to HD-DVD), 300, The Number 23, The Astronaut Farmer, Pan's Labyrinth, Zodiac, Shooter, TMNT, and many, many others!
^^^ Who distributes Pan's Labyrinth?

Very good movie BTW, but I thought it was a little overrated.

It isn't new. It just supposed to make us feel better. I'm underwhelmed, again. Where are all the exclusive releases? Where are all of the Universal releases?

24 Univeral titles in a year isn't much. We're getting alot of pats on the head, and feel good fluff, but no real substance or new info. Not the best way to treat your customers.

Who does distribute Pan's Labyrinth?

Pan's Labyrinth is produced by Picturehouse Films. This is a fairly new venture by New Line Pictures and Warner / HBO, so it should end up being released on both formats. Although HD-DVD sometimes has the edge over BD from these studios.

I posted this in another thread regarding upcoming HD-DVD's in 2007:

Exclusive content for 2007: Titles include The Bourne Ultimatum, The Good Shepherd, Grindhouse (Quentin Tarantino), Hot Fuzz (Shaun Of the Dead cast & director), The Kingdom (Jamie Fox), Smokin Aces, The Hitcher, American Gangster (Russell Crowe / Denzel Washington, directed by Ridley Scott), Children Of Men, Evan Almighty (Steve Carell / Morgan Freeman), I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Nancy (Adam Sandler comedy), Charlie Wilson's War (Tom Hanks / Julia Roberts, directed by Mike Nichols), among others.
