I'm running Onkyo SR603x right now I'm upgradding to nice on the wall speakers 5.1

I was looking at more power in the 706 or 806 series. But then the 606 looks like a nice system. I was told you could take the extra channels and boost power to some speakers of the set, it would be nice on the 606 90 watts to up the Center channel.

Will I see a big difference from the 603 to the 606.

On top of that would the 706 or 806 be a big jump from the 606.

I'm not doing loud rock sound.

Mostly looking for the 4 to 1 switching features, and clarity for audio when running HD programming and movies.

Also other Sub $600 recievers you might suggest??

Thanks

Either one should be a nice upgrade, it just comes down to how much power you need and how much money you want to spend. On average the 806 costs about double what the 606 does. It offers 40w more per channel, one more HDMI input and 1080p video scaling. You might also look at some of the Yamaha AVR's, the 663 is comparable to the 606, but only offers 2 HDMI inputs.
