Guys,

I went ahead and bought a cheap triple core Phenom X3 8450 to replace the Athlon X2 4850 in my Geforce 8200 HTPC system ( Biostar TF8200 A+ ).

I don't have any issues with the current set-up as it is; Blu-Ray and HD-DVD playback at 24p is flawless; but I was planning on dropping the 4850e into a simple office system and take advantage of the post-processing capabilities from the Phenom for the HTPC system.

Here is the BD advisor screen with the 4850e, with which I can playback BDs with no problem:

and here it is with the 8450:

As you can see, all of a sudden the graphics driver is no longer accepted. This is the latest nvidia driver available for the system and is WHQL.

Is this a situation where I will need to do a clean reinstall of Vista?

I've reinstalled PDVD with no luck, and I've also reinstalled the video drivers with no effect.

Any clue on what the problem could be?

I appreciate the help.

Screenshots of CPU-Z (CPU, Memory) and GPU-Z may be helpful to diagnose the problem.
