Upgrade from def tech pro cinema 600 to SVS prime 5.1

I presently have the def tech pro cinema 600 hooked up to a Yamaha rx a2a. I’m interested in upgrading the speaker system but looking to keep it around $1000. I am interested in the SVS prime satellite 5.1 package. Has anyone had any experience with said speaker systems and is it a worthwhile upgrade to go for the SVS? It’s sound with music will be the main consideration. Thoughts will be appreciated

There are many, many better ways to spend $1K especially if MUSIC is your main focus.

First off:

1. Will it be 2-channel music or multi-channel music you'll be doing?
2. Room dimensions? Totally enclosed or open plan?
3. How far from the speakers will you be sitting?
4. Which music genres do you listen to the most?
5. Where did you find the DT fell short with the most?
6. How important is FORM FACTOR and WAF? Do you HAVE TO HAVE something tiny like those SVS sats?

Due to room layout tower speakers aren’t possible and the Sats will work best for placement and WAF

If you need something small and compact, these squeeze TWO 4" woofers into a tiny cabinet and cost just $50 more per pair than those SVS Sats that have only ONE 4" woofer:

5 of them will run you $826 shipped here:

Add this 12" PORTED sub on sale for $180 shipped ($500 regular price) which will easily kick the SEALED SVS SB1000 to the curb, and you're done:
