Upgrade from SVS Satellite 5.1 - Europe

Hi everyone!

I've had my SVS Satellite 5.1 system with SB-1000 for quite a while now, and I've meaning to upgrade L/R/C. Since I don't really have the chance to trial period, I'd have to do a blind buy.

I've been looking at B&W 606 S2 as the next thing, but will I notice a difference? I've read the SVS Satellites are quite good when paired with a sub, so I'm not sure what the next logical step would be for me at this point.

Also, I've recently looked at Monitor Audio, Wharfedale, and Mission brands, but I can't seem to find proper user experiences.

What euro brands would you recommend on that $500-600 pair speakers range?

Thanks!!

No, you'll experience a HUGE noticeable upgrade, especially if you do any MUSIC listening. The tiny 4" woofers on the SVS Sats can only do so much, and their tweeters can be quite harsh/shrill in my experience. I home demoed the SVS Prime bookshelves a few years ago, sent them back within 48 hours for that reason although the Primes' much larger 6.5" woofers were pretty good for mid-bass slam.

Are you in France? I'd look at Focal and Triangle if they are cheaper over there than here. I'd also look at the Canton Chrono speakers, made in Germany or the Czech Republic. Are you able to order things from Amazon UK? They often have great deals on British speakers: Q Acoustics, KEF Q series, Wharfedale Diamonds, and Monitor Audio.

What % of your usage is movies/TV and what % is stereo music listening?

If it's mainly movies/TV then I'd start by buying the best center speaker you can (preferably a 3 way design), since it's the center that does up to 80% of the HT output and 99% of the dialogue.

Thanks so much for the reply!
I've narrowed it pretty much to Triangle BRO3, ELAC DBR62 and B&W 606 S2 SE. I can demo the B&W , but I'll try to find a way to demo the Triangles as well, maybe through Amazon and return them if they're not good. I tried the QAcoustics a while back, and while enjoyed the sound I really hated how they blend into the room aesthetically.

I'm currently at 60% movies 40% music, but I do have the budget to upgrade L/R/C at once.
