Hello,

I have an 807 for 3 years with no problems with klipsch synergy f10 speakers. I want to move on and I read about sony str-dn1040 but i dont have where to listen it. I want also to upgrade my speakers this year to klipsch reference or dali zensor. The new Avr needs to be futureproof with 4k and everything for the next 4 years. Is this a good choise, or not as good to power and sound compare to my 807. I dont really care about bells and whistles like spotify, zone 2, etc, all I want is best best sound for music and movies at a acceptable price. Can you help me with other suggestions? Thanks you

btw. My setup is 7.1 with front height. And intend to let it like this.

major problems with the Sony DN1040. Problems include a lot of issues with the HDMI Board as well as other nagging problems.

I like Denon myself under $1k, but Yamaha, Marantz, Pioneer, and Onkyo all make good receivers. Emotiva also just released a receiver without bells and whistles, but includes PEQ and preouts.
