Currently I have this Klipsch gear:

pair of KG 3.5 towers ( http://www.klipsch.com/kg-3-5 )

sc.5 center ( http://www.klipsch.com/sc-5-center-speaker )

and some SB-1 bookshelves ( http://www.klipsch.com/sb-1-bookshelf-speaker )

I would like to move the KG's to the rear and the center will become my rear center. The SB's will either be the sides or not used at all.

Since I'm keeping the KG's, do I need to use some older Klipsch stuff or can I buy some newer stuff?

I would love to own a RC-64 type center ( http://www.klipsch.com/rc-64-ii-center-speaker ) but if I decided on another set of older Klipsch mains such as the KLF-30 ( http://www.klipsch.com/klf-30 ) or KG5.5 ( http://www.klipsch.com/kg-5-5 ) or possibly a newer WF 35 ( http://www.klipsch.com/wf-35-floorstanding-speaker ) would that center work? Is there an older model center that has the same look of multiple woofers?

So to sum it all up, what should I upgrade my mains and center with? I only use the system for Home Theater. I have a budget of about $1,000. My current receiver is the Onkyo RC-180 ( http://www.us.onkyo.com/model.cfm?cl...ver&m=HT-RC180 )

I'm really lost as to what would be a significant upgrade.

I have a chance today to pick up 2 Klipsch Chorus II, another M&K sub, and a Klipsch RC-3 center all for dirt cheap.

Not sure how the sound of the Chorus would be with my receiver though as lots of people online use tube amps for the chorus.

The rc 64's are meant to go w/ the RF-7's. That is what I have and I am pleased.

Vann's has some pretty good deals if you keep your eye out for them.

I prefer LaScalas (in your budget) to anything mentioned so far, but with your room size, those Chorus would be a pretty stout choice.
You could find a pair of Heresies and use one of those as a center. Move your KG's to surround. Not a perfectly matched system, but I think matching can be overated.

I would love a pair of RF-7's but I can wait till I get a bigger room to justify buying them.

Yesterday, I went out and found a pair of Synergy SF-3 also dirt cheap and picked those up. http://www.klipsch.com/sf-3-floorstanding-speaker

I like their sound and they have good bass.

Currently Newegg has the RC-52 center for $220 shipped. Is that a holy crap buy it now price to replace my center, or should I continue waiting and just buy what I want when I see a really good price?

I'll try to audition them when I see someone selling it. I've never heard them, but I do know they get great reviews.
