Upgrade my receiver.

Hello all....  loooooooooong time lurker, apparently first time poster.... I swear I created an account back in 2005/2006, but I guess not.  I'm moving out to another house soon, and was looking to upgrade some of my HT setup (or at least start with my AVR).

Here's what I have:

Panasonic 65" Plasma  TC-P65S1

Klipsch Synergy F3's, S3's, C3, and 12" Sub.

Yamaha HTR-5990

I'd first like to start off by saying i'm a dummy, this whole time, I was thinking I had an ok setup, only to now find out (or should I say recall) that my AVR doesn't do 1080p.  I've set up my system numerous ways throughout the years, with sources going into AVR, or sources going to TV and then optical back to AVR.  Anyways, it's time for an upgrade.  Please help me pick one out.

I was looking at Yamaha RX-A1030, but haven't been doing as much research as I should, figured i'd start here first though.  My budget is around $1000 +/- $200.  I was looking at Yamaha's because the 5990 treated me well for what, almost 10 years now.  I watch a lot of TV, movies, have my pc hooked up to my HT, will prolly get a PS4 when a good game comes out.  Anyways, I'd like to future proof it for 4K, and the thought of being able to control my AVR with my phone/tablet is alluring to me.  I'm not set on a Yamaha, but that's where i'm starting to look.  Any input is greatly appreciated.

I will be setting up my HT in my living room again, it's about 20' x 30' with cathedral ceiling. I've already begun drilling holes in the attic to run 12 gauge speaker wire. Bought a 50' hdmi cable to run from my pc in my office to the AVR (I hope it's long enough). Other than that, I can't think of anything else right now.
You really cant go wrong sticking with the Yamaha. I have the RX-A1000 in my bedroom and its a great receiver, I have absolutely no complaints. I have 2 subs in the bedroom system and the bass sounds fine to me,dual subs help balance out the nulls. I know some here prefer recommending receivers that have audyssey because of the bass management, so that may influence your decision. I will soon be getting a Yamaha CX-A5000 ,recently reviewed by Kal Rubinson in stereophile, and if the bass management isn't good enough I will add a DSpeaker Antimode at a later date. I think you will be more than happy with the Yamaha.

Yeah, I was just making sure there was nothing i'm missing.  I think the AVR i referenced is plenty good for the price, I think i'll pull the trigger this weekend!  :)

Might want to see if there ate still close outs on the 2020. It would be about the same price as the 1030.
