Operating System
MS Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit SP1
CPU
AMD Phenom II X4 965
RAM
8.0GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 802MHz (11-11-11-29)
Motherboard
ASUSTeK Computer INC. Crosshair III Formula (AM3)
Graphics
AMD Radeon R9 270 Series
Hard Drives
625GB Western Digital Black
PSU
1000w thermaltake (not sure what model)
I am planning on getting an asus z97-e motherboard (open box) with a i5 4690k (new) - unless you guys know how I can save atleast 30% on a good used one, but they dont seem to dip below 200 even used.
I am also planning on picking up a used r9 290 205$ and they carry a 3 year warranty that is transferable. (this saves me about 100$)
My question is which should I go for first? I figure whichever upgrade I do I can sell my old stuff for roughly 100$.
Is this a logical set of upgrades?
I kind of want to go for the 290 because it's less $ and an easier upgrade, but I am concerned about bottle necking. Anyways that's why I am here. I am open to other opinions as well.
