Here is my situation:

I currently have Windows ME installed on a 933mhz PIII HP Pavillion which I am using for my HTPC. My goal is to take out the existing hard drive (60GB) and replace it with 2 120GB drives. I am also going to upgrade to XP Pro.

I have a few choices of what I can do. I don't know which is the best to take. I only have a few things installed on the PC right now. Nothing that is not easily obtainable (winamp, zplayer, etc..) Here is what I thought I could do:

1.) use Norton ghost to clone the 60GB onto 1 of the 120GB. Use that one as the master and the other 120GB as the slave. Then upgrade to XP Pro.

2.) remove the 60GB drive. Intstall both 120GB drives. Run the HP system recovery disc for a fresh install of ME on to the 120GB master. Then upgrade to XP. Then re-install all the programs.

which method would yeild the smoothest upgrade to XP? What other issues should I be aware of?
