Upgrade to GSG devastators from DTS-10’s?

I currently use 4 Danley DTS-10’s in a dedicated room and two VNF DIYSoundgroup MBM-12’s.

Two of the DTS-10 are in the front corners behind a screen wall and the other two are back of room near the corners. I have a very good response with house curve (using two minidsp 2x4 HD’s). However the VNF MBM-12’s interfere with the second row seating and the wife would like to see them go.

I’m considering four Devastators from GSG audio but I would have to put them all behind the screen wall and selling the MBM’s and DTS’s. Is this a good idea, bad idea, indifferent? I wonder how it will effect frequency response since all subs will be up front?

Any thoughts welcome.

Have you REWed the available sub locations in your room? What response does REW say the front locations give you?
If I had 4 DTS-10's in a single room, I'm not sure I'd ever change that setup for anything other than an engineered SBA or DBA. If you're room response is good and output levels are good, does that mean the MBM situation is the only concern?

Do you have room behind the screen wall for a larger far-field MBM solution?

If dead set on the GSG option, are you planning on keeping the two rear DTS-10's and trying to integrate? Also, where do you stand on ULF (below 18hz)?

Your current sub locations inherently give strong output and low spatial variation in response, and you've got 4 DTS10's!

I'd leave them and solve your issue another way.

Thanks guys. I’m very happy with everything now honestly and love the DTS-10’s. I’ve had them for 10 heads now probably and was mainly wondering if the Devastators would be an upgrade.

I do have room behind my screen wall and have been considering just adding 2 or 4 of the MBM-21’s from GSG. (I’m not handy enough to build from scratch). When the Devastators came out I thought just 4 of those may be best.

Think I’ll go that route adding the 21’s up front and moving out the mbm-12’s VNF.

If those DTS 10's are the super spud things im thinking of with dual 10" drivers in each and something crazy stupid high like 99db+/ef...I dunno what you could gain lol. 10hz on the low end. Those things are a dream.

Maybe add a nearfield setup? of 4 12's?
