Hello all, Dustin here-
It's been roughly 6-7 years since I hosted/ Co-Hosted a GTG. I've attended several over the years going back to 2011 or so with @HuskerOmaha and @desertdome. Now that Covid is not really ruling our lives anymore, I think it's time to have some fun with this expensive hobby we all love!
@lukeamdman and I held a couple of these at his place, and now that my HT is (Most)ly finished- it's high time I have one here at my place if there is sufficient interest.
Where:
HT Crawl, My place, Oak Grove MN,
@Rowan611 's place (Woodbury),
@marty9876 's place (Shakopee).
I think between the 3 of us, we've covered the far corners of the Metro in a triangle.
When: Saturday April 29th, 2023 , likely doing 2 of the theaters in the morning- going out for lunch, and wrapping up at my place on the north end. Those that are travelling from other states are welcome to stay at my place.
What: General GTG (we have a wide variety of gear, subs, speakers, projectors)
Why: Cause it's a ton of fun!
My Gear:
Visuals- BenQ LK990 4k Laser Projector with Vertex2 video processing. 130" Diy Screen (Cine Grey) Materials by Carlofet.com
Receiver- Yamaha RX-A3080
Amplifier- Sunfire Cinema Grand Signature 5 (405w/ Channel)
Mains- Bowers and Wilkins 801 Matrix Series 3
Subs- 2x DIY Gjallarhorns loaded with TC sounds LMS5400 Ultras- Powered by a Crest ProLite 7.5 (Hoping to change this to a CVR D-3302 prior to GTG)
2x DIY Othorns Loaded with B&C Speakers 21IPAL drivers- Powered by a Speakerpower SP2-12000
Media: Panasonic DP-UB9000 4k Blu-Ray Player + HTPC
Equalization- Minidsp 8x8
My HT room is roughly 17x28, with the projector shooting across the room width. There are two reasons for this- 1: I don't have the height required for risers. And 2: I tried moving the speakers/subs into the long configuration and the acoustics just did not work out. Sounded like absolute trash no matter what I tried with EQ.
Demo Materials: TBD, I have a couple demo discs from prior years. The materials are now dated, however, so will seek out newer content.
