URC button lockout?

994 Views 7 Replies 6 Participants Last post by  dsigrist
Is there a way to lock-out all button presses on the MX-900 remote when a macro is running? I have a fairly long macro to turn on all my equipment but if I press any button while this macro is running my TV will fail to switch to the proper input. I would like to lock-out the keypad while macros are running. Is this possible?

You might consider resequencing the macro steps.

Nope. Just don't touch the buttons

Yeah, I have no problem doing that. It's my impatient wife and kids that screw it up.

I have since then redone all the macros so they execute faster.
What about having it go to a blank page while the macro is executing and then go to the correct page once complete?

LOL!

That's a great idea!
For the MX-3000 you can use an animated .gif file from MX-3000.com or the Files section of RemoteCentral.com.

There is a graphic Countdown (9, 8, 7, .......1, 0) that looks like it came from an old movie, that looks great. They also have an example of a pair of dancing guys that will run while the macro is running.

This is particularly useful if you have one of the SONY Mega Players that takes quick a bit of time to get the DVD from the slot in the player.

Don't overlook the DMX-3000 software that will use DVD Profiler to get the cover art and put it on your MX-3000 to select DVD's graphically.

Good Luck.
