Got MX-700 yesterday. Made my own cable tonight since VARs are not provided cables or manuals for the end user. However, the downloadable software and documentation contains all the information necessary to create your own cable.
The software is quite intuitive and easy to follow. I started with a blank template and quickly added all of my components - Lutron GrafikEye, B&K AVR307, Denon 2800, Rio Receiver (needed to learn from this remote) - all of which were available from the URC database provided with the software. Though the download is via a serial connection, it didn't take very long at all.
The weight and feel of the remote seems to be good. The remote is illuminated by a 'light' button on the side, just at the thumb position in the hand of a right handed user.
Feel free to ask questions. I've created some simple macros, trained the remote through the IR learning process and generated layers of menus.
