Urgent: Panasonic X30 and SAXR10 for 280$

I was at a local electronics store today and they have one of these combos left. Its new an in the box with full warranty. I was just looking for a dvd player and heard that this one is great. I was considering buying both and selling the amp since I already have an Onkyo ht-s570 system. Any opinions? Would the speakers I have from the HTiB work with this amp? The specs say the amp's output is 6-8Ohms, but my speakers can only be used on amps with 8ohm outputs. Will this work?

Yup, this will work out.

Panasonic Canada only sells the XP30 as part of the combo so $280, yeah that's a great deal.

Don't worry about the amp specs, your stuff will work fine.
I did mean 280US so 349 CAN. Is that still a great deal? I just figured someone from theu.s. would answer
It would be yes because the combo was about close to $500 CDN or something.
How much do you figure the receiver alone is worth? I was considering buying the package since the reviews i've read about the dvd player is awesome. i may just end up selling the receiver
I probably guess somewhere less in the 300 range. Hard to say since I never looked up the price personally.

For the US, the XP30 was available seperately and also had the XP50 (which Canada doesn't carry) which is basically has the DVD-A capabilities on it.
Actually, futureshop has the xr50. Its selling for 399$ cad

I bought one of these (SA-XR10) off ebay for $130 + shipping. Seems like they usually go for around $150 or so.
I've enjoyed the SA-XR10. Have it paired with DVD-Xp50. Smart-looking and excellently performing combo.

The receiver is worth about 100 cdn at best. The bottom really fell out of the pricing on Panny digital amps. Performance is fine, but they have been a bit of a dismal failure up here in Canada and have been continually dropped in price by Panasonic. The 15 can regularly be had for under 200. If it's a new combo then it's a good deal at the price quoted. The amp will work fine with your speakers, 8 ohms is a fairly easy drive for any modern receiver. I've run a 15 with 4 and 8 ohm rated speakers without issue. You would have paid that much for the dvd player alone, so just consider the receiver a freebie for a bedroom or something.
