Edit: Disregard/ delete, found it using an external search engine: https://www.avsforum.com/forum/19-d...hat-channel-installation.html#/topics/1355423

Edit: For perpetuity: 1 1/4” fine threaded #8 screws

Sorry my search was not fruitful, and my RSIC-1 pdf doesn’t specify:

1) Coarse or Fine thread screws for drywall into hat channel?
2) Screw length? It seems < 1 1/2” is necessary to avoid inadvertently driving one deep enough to hit a joist/stud.

Any help appreciated, my guy is on his way to home depot (ahead of schedule)!

For further perpetuity: For double-layer 5/8” drywall, green glue, and hat channel: screws used were 1 1/4” and 2” Grabber brand screws that specify “for attaching drywall to metal.” My sub-contractor/cabinet guy was jazzed about how much deeper/bigger the the threads were.
