I received a hand me down HTPC recently and overall it's pretty nice but the motherboard doesn't have SPDIF out and I have an old receiver that doesn't take HDMI audio. I have an ATI 5550 that outputs audio over the HDMI port which is fine as long as the TV is on but a lot of the time I like to have the TV off and play music from my HTPC. I'm just fishing for suggestions on a good quality USB SPDIF out that I could hook up to my receiver but I also don't want it to cause any conflict with the HDMI output on the video card. So, any suggestions?

The Behringer UCA202 is a valid alternative. It is limited to 40.1/48kHz sampling but has an ASIO driver and some neat features for recording, multiple outputs, etc.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll check those out. I'm mostly just trying to have a secondary output to my sound system that has good quality sound since when I'm using it I'll be listening to music on it.
