doesn't your HDTV have a digital tuner?

Some HDTVs don't come with a built in tuner... mostly older models, though. I'd think the USB tuner wouldn't work for it.... most require software and an install on a computer. You could try I guess...

I would think if it's so old it doesn't have a digital tuner then it probably doesn't have a USB port either. I could be way off, though.

I have a semi-new HDTV, and I don't think mine even has a USB port, lol.

Easy_rhino, it would probably be best to simply buy a HD receiver STB. Look on the Circuit City or Best Buy website, and you'll find some good deals.

Along with a digital tuner, my TV has a USB port labeled "Service Port". I assume it's for firmware upgrades. I tried plugging various things into it, such as a thumb drive, card reader and even a USB networking cable connected to my laptop.

The TV didn't even flinch.

I doubt it would recognize a tuner adapter.
