USB problem

Hi all,

I have the Pioneer vsx-74txi receiver and have recently hooked it up to my PC via the USB port to listen to music from an external hard drive. The problem I am experiencing is when I play the music from the external hard drive just on the PC I have no problem. When I plug it into my receiver it plays through my home theater speakers but my PC processor usage goes to 100% and I can't use the PC. I am using Windows XP Pro with media player but the problem exists no matter what player I use. Also, my PC is a bit of distance away from my home theater (about 20 feet) so I am using 16 foot cables with 10 foot extenders. Another thing I did notice is that the external hard drive (Western Digital / MyBook Premium / 500GB / 7200 / 16MB / USB 2.0/Firewire) is formatted using FAT32. Any ideas what the problem might be? Thanks in advance.
