Setup right now is 30" CRT widescreen Sony Wega Hi Def connected with a DVI to HDMI to a HTPC (2.0GHZ celeron, ati 7000 radeon card and I think 512MB Ram). The HTPC is in the office that is adjecent to my bedroom where the TV is, so a 9 foot DVI cable works. In the office is also a 15" IMac which I use to play Warcraft 3, the only real game I like right now.

I attempted to play WC3 on my HTPC but its such a hassle trying to use the right powerstrip resolutions that I just get a black screen and I was so frustrated trying to get me to see anything on the CRT, that now finding a proper resolution for WC3 just makes me want to cry.

Plus the resolution isnt that "great" on my TV, its running at like 1120x630, so it would probably look crappy anyway if I tried a 800x600 within that (which I tried and didnt work anyway).

So my thinking now is to get a 20" LCD (or 19") monitor and hook that up with a KVM switch to my HTPC so I can watch my normal ripped movies on the 30" CRT, but move into the office for WC3ing.

Just wondering if this is worth doing or not. The IMac has a fixed monitor so that cant be made bigger.

Really I dont want things to be bigger, so much, as I want there to be more stuff on the screen. If the units stayed the same size, but I got to see 100% more of the battlefield, that would totally "PWN" and thats what I want. I gues that means it needs a higher resolution like 2000x1000 or whatever it is, but on a bigger monitor. Right now I think the mac is like 1200x860 or something like that on the 15"er.

Also might want to get into the new MMORPG World Of Warcraft. I realize my system isnt high end, but I just built it purposely cheap because it serves my non-gaming HTPC needs.

Will that system run something like World Of Warcraft and if so, should I go with the 19/20" monitor or attempt to get it to work on the 30" CRT?

Another thought is that there might be some way to not use a KVM switch, since it has 2 video cards, the one built into the MoBo as well. And the 7000 has DVI and VGA output. I know its possible to have a 2 screen setup, but wonder if it can be one screen, just simulcast through both the VGA and DVI. Doubt it, but worth asking.
