End goal: to listen to music streamed to my Apple TV 2 while watching TV from my cable box using my Denon 3311ci.
My Apple TV is connected to the 3311ci via an HDMI cable currently. I am hoping that it will simultaneously output audio via optical, as the 3311ci allows for 2-ch PCM via the optical input in zone 2 according to the manual.
How can I use the same pair of speakers for both zones however? Do I need to run a jumper cable to bridge the 2 sets of speaker binding posts? Will this harm anything? I'm using banana plugs at the moment, but I'm assuming I may need to use bare wire to accomplish this?
If anyone knows of a better way to accomplish what I'm trying to do, I'm certainly open to other suggestions as well.
Thanks!
