I am going to be setting up my computer in the computer room to be used not only as my everyday computer, but also as my home media center on the TV by way of wireless media extender.

If (1) person is in the computer room working on say a MS Word document, can another person be in front of the TV using the media extender capabilities (watching a ripped movie or looking at photos etc.)?

Thanks for your replies!

You should not have any problems doing that provided your PC is not an old 386 and that your media extender is NOT transcoding media on the fly in real time. If you have a fairly powerful new PC then even that will probably not interfere.

With my vintage P4 2.53 I routinely stream video to two different network media players, record video (HD and an SD for example), browse the internet and do commercial detection all simultaneously. I suspect that a media extender will be a bit more of a cpu hog but not much more.
