My HTPC is connected to a plasma and a HS-10 (dual head ATI Radeon).

As an alternative to a PocketPC + Netremote, does anyone use a small (say 15") LCD screen as a "control center"?

NetRemote supports custom resolutions, so obviously you get a lot more area to play with (handy for mp3 playlists, online TV program guides etc). The screen will be hung on the wall near the seating positon, so not portable like a PocketPC, but I sit in the same position 99% of the time.

Has anyone tried? How convenient is it over time?

Funny. I have had the same idea as you, my plan was to connect a small (old) pc with a touch sceen in a stand in the mittle of the cinema near the main seat(mine!!) Only the screen must be visuable ofcause!! I am on my way to complete it but still working...

With this solution it is possible to use the netremote to control everything! And it is a cheap way to compete with cestron.

If you have a better idea let me know!
