Using a Compaq Armada 1580 with TV

I've just bought an 'old' company laptop, an Armada 1580. One hope was to use it with my digital camera and then show the results directly off that on a TV (PAL -- I live in Switzerland). The TV (Philips) has video input, but I'm damned if I can see how to output an appropriate signal from the Compaq (it has an output, but the documentation has little about its characteristics and/or its use). Anyone know if it's feasible, and where I might get a driver? :)
