Using an HDTV as projector replacement?

Can an LCD or Rear Projection HDTV be used effectively in place of a projector so that a laptop can easily be connected to it to for a powerpoint presentation? I am looking for a cost effective solution and renting a tv is much cheaper then renting a projector.

Yes any TV can be used in place of a projector. As long as it has the correct inputs. However, when projectors costing 900 dollars now at days for 720p models, I'm confused on your cost effective" comment.


The only offset with the Rear Projection HDTV is carrying it in your car, then hiring 5 day laborers to move it to the clients presentation room.
