using european equipment

I have fallen in love with a preamp/ amp manufactured in china for european market. The voltage requiered is 240V. Will it be fine to get a voltage convertor? How will that affect the overall performance? how will this units interact with those which are 110V?

Any input will be appreciatted.

Have an electrician install a 240 outlet at the system location, do not use a step up.

You may have ground loop issues (hum) with any other components in the system that are 120VAC.

Consult an electrician that works with broadcast facilities, recording studios, etc. to get the correct answers on how to do this correctly. They deal with different products at different line voltages that are integrated together.

My OPINION (opinion only!!) is that you will be OK if the 240 outlet and the 120 outlet are from breakers on the same phase of the panel.

It's not possible to have a 240V feed on the same phase as a 120V feed.

The 240 V feed is composed of the 2 opposing phase hots.
