Has anyone used the pj for their perosnal photography images? I want to leverage the use of my new IF 7200 with digital photography images. I am considering 2 ideas: One is just placing the picture CD's you get back with your print photo processing at any photo developer in a DVD player that handles JPEg (I may have to convert to them to Jpeg as I don't know the format Kodak picture DC's are in?) Idea two is showing them right from a laptop hard drive to the pj via s video connection.

Does anyone have experience showing digital photography images with either of these or recommend anything? Eventually I will have converted thousands of images either to CD or organized on a HD.

Thanks,

Tom

Is there a reason for not using the laptop via a VGA cable ???

The results will be far better when using a high rez output unlike s-vid which will be 480i max

phar phreddy -

The laptop is output challenged... it has s video, lp1 printer, and a serial port, along with a couple USB's.

My interest here was mainly id someone had vewed Kodak picture cd's via a DVD player and how it looked if it could be done, and if anyone had experience with sourcing them from a HD.

Actually would the 480i in the case of a static image (slide) be any different than a 480p?Thanks, Tom

I use an HP en5000 to access all my photo's on my network and send them to the IF 7200 looks great. The HP only has S-Video but its good enough for photo's IMHO.. I have a Kodak camera and transfer the pictures directly from my flash card into the directory that I have set up for the HP to search. I have never gotten a CD so I don't know what format Kodak uses but thier camera can be set for PCX or JPG. I know that is a little different than what you are looking to do but I just wanted you to know that the Photos should look really great on the 7200.

Thats a first on me... every laptop I have owned (including sub notes like the libretto) have a VGA out for powering a real monitor....

bOObie - Yes, thanks. Your info is a big help. Especially since you have the same pj. Once I get my digital camera body and software I can make them in any format and store anywhere. It''s just that right now I can only hope the Kodak picture CD's (or others) have a JPeg format so I can get started at least with the DVD player. Many thanks, Tom
