Hi all.

Just picked up a 42" Panny S2 and was thinking about using the Polk CS2 as a "bypass" to the TV's speakers...

I can't put a 5.1 system in place at this time but would it be possible to use the CS2 and to connect it directly to the TV - i.e., do so without using a home theater receiver?

Thanks in advance...

Nope! The S2 doesn't have speaker terminals. You'll need a receiver or external amp of some type.

If you want a one speaker solution look at a soundbar.

Crud, that's what I thought...thank you.

Even if the TV had speaker terminals, you really wouldn't want to underpower the CS2 like that anyways. You'd also need two of them to play in stereo...

As was suggested above, grab yourself a soundbar.

Two good points, thank you.

Now I just have to convince my wife that it makes sense to add one more "item" to our family room...
