Using multiple inputs on AVR-1600

Hello, I have a HK AVR-1600. How can I use the composite front input when both the components are used on the back? I can get audio, but no video. I have it set on video 3, and analog audio, but no luck. I can't figure out how to override the receiver looking for one of the component inputs.
