I have acquired a 1031Q to use as a parts machine. It has what appears to be a "SPOT KILL" problem (tubes have burnt-in horizontal line across the center). What I would like to know is: What causes this and what parts should I NOT use, that might cause this on my good PJ?

BTW: The RED tube does not have the burnt line, but doesn't have a picture either.

MOst likely it's a problem with the convegence/V deflection board. I wouldn't use it at all until you find the problem with the V collapse.
