Using PEQ to simulate a highpass

252 Views 3 Replies 2 Participants Last post by  bouf0010
Can this be done?? I picked up an EP2500 with a dsp1124p for a separate build but in the meantime i wanted to try it out on my ported IXL18.

In winisd, i remove the highpass i have in place and the excursion skyrockets. When i implement a PEQ @5hz Q=2 Gain= -10 and one @8hz Q=2 Gain -10, the excursion goes back to where i like it to be and the response curve looks very similar to the one with a highpass in place.

Is this a safe way to simulate a highpass?? Can it be used for short term testing? How about longterm?

thanks!

exercise in futility

i cant set a filter below 20hz anyways lol

but if i could....
there's a thread on how to effectively get a lower freq HP filter even with a 20 Hz lower limit
ya I have that set with my inuke - I was just trying to set a hp with the dsp1124p, looks like its not possible
