Hi Guys,

Using an ASROCK 330BD + windows 7 + mediaportal to drive a panasonic tc-p42g10 via a pioneer VSX-1019AH av unit all via HDMI.

Everything works just fine using mediaportal, however, i have been trying to get the correct screen refresh for watching iplayer content and it's highlighted some issues hopefully someone has seen before.

When i check the "monitor type" in my display properties in Windows 7 it identifies the monitor as a "pioneer VSX-1019AH" instead of the panasonic TV. This makes some sense as it is being driven via the av unit but I think this is causing the supported display resolutions to be incorrectly communicated to the OS.

This is an issue because 50hz is not coming up as a supported resolution (even though I know it works via mediaportal refresh rate changing utility). Trying to change this via powerstip results in a blank screen also.

Anyone solved this issue?

Many Thanks

Did you get everything to work properly by bypassing the receiver before you put the receiver between your PC and your TV?

Do you know for sure that your receiver will pass throught any video without modifiation?

Good point, i have another HDMI cable on order (the way things are setup at the moment it's difficult to unplug one). However, i guess there are two things i am trying to work out.

i. whether the failure to be able to change to 50Hz is the fault of the AV UNIT (which i'll test as, you say, with the new HDMI cable)

ii. why windows is seeing the AV UNIT instead of the TV. I *will* want to use the existing setup on an ongoing basis so would like to resolve the issue. I was foolishly thinking there might be some "passthru" setting or something on the AV UNIT.

Also, I have looked through the instruction manual and i cannot see anywhere where's it says it does *anything* with HDMI inputs going to HDMI outputs. Of course the manual is *wonderfully* written so i might have missed something.

Many Thanks
