If you are going to be using 2 subs in a HT, do they need to be matching subs?

The reason I ask is that I already have one REL storm III, but I am going to be moving into a bigger house with a bigger HT room and I really don't think even two of those is going to give me the out out I would like?

If you colocate (to get more spl) the subs then it would make less difference but if you position them seperately to provide more even distribution (minimize nulls and peaks) then 2 of the same is better IMO.
