Hey guys sorry I don't know this or how to figure it out, but what would be the ideal amp for this setup?  Would the Inuke3000 be good or 6000 needed/beneficial?

Inuke 3000 bridged at 4 ohms

or

Ep4000 bridged at 4 ohms.

Roughly 1900-2000 watts RMS , perfect match for the single 4 ohm coils on the UXL ( or FTW ).

Ep4000 is a flat a little bit lower but they are basically the same.

Be careful juicing the full amp power if you aren't running a high-pass filter though, but you should be okay otherwise.

Inuke6000 isn't really needed unless you have plans to get a second UXL.

Thanks very much. Just planning on one in conjunction with an XS30.  Not sure if I am going to run a HPF but I might, as I don't seem to notice much below 16 Hz at this point.

Do you have any opinion as to the pros and cons of the Inuke vs the Ep?

Cool thanks again.  I am thinking I can do this build for about the same or a little less than adding a 2nd XS30 with more output in the low end.  Plus I can split the cost up over the three components.

I've heard the Inuke 3000dsp is a much better amp. That's what I would do if I were you.

Not true, they are basically the same amp, from the same manufacturer. But do a few things different.

Inuke3000 is smaller, lighter, but does nearly the same thing is the Ep4000.

Ep4000 is around 40-50 pounds, but doesn't start rolling off until around 5hz. Inukes are supposed to rolloff slightly higher at around 10hz.

This is not a big deal as much people don't even shoot for bass reproduction that low, but around these forums, it can make a difference.

So if you don't need the DSP built in the Inuke series, and you can deal with the larger weight and form factor, the EP4000 is the better buy.

For the record I own two ep4000's and one Inuke3000DSP.

I would check out the tested rms of both amps.

I have, a while ago, and it was posted on this forum.

I already know the results.

I would encourage you do the same. Unless you are hiding some mystery test that was done recently, then feel free to post it, as I'm only trying to help the OP.

Edit: Apparently the 3000 doesn't have the rollof of the 6000, and is closer to the ep4000/2500 amps. Still, a toss up between them.

I have a miniDSP, but I would probably opt for the amp with DSP anyway, seems like a valuable feature to me for the future just in case.

I searched that thread and all I could find was a reference to a SPL test with the EP4000 and inuke 3000dsp in a separate thread.

Later in your thread they make fun of the test. Go figure...

If some one can show these two amps rms tested I'd love to see it.

The EP has always been a good bang for your $$ amp over the years it seems. It would be nice if they had a EP dsp option with a hp that reached down to 15 with at least the power of the 4/2500.

I would not touch a ep 4000 for sub duty. Id go with a Inuke 6000 if you can.

To drive one UXL18 in a 4cf sealed box? That's what I got to drive two.

It has RMS testing of the ep2500. The Ep2500 is the same as the Ep4000, and they do 1950watts RMS indicated in that thread, at 4 ohms.

I don't think the Inuke3000 has been officially tested, but it's known to be similar, or rolloff ever so slightly sooner.

We are basically splitting hairs at this point. Fan mod any Inuke series or Ep2500/4000 amp and you would be hard pressed to find a better subwoofer amp for home duty. (for the money)

What are you basing this on? The Ep4000 gives more power under 20hz then most amps.

According to Bassthathz's thread with the Fluke DMM, it actually shows it might even rolloff less then the clone amps.
