Vantage Q Series overview?

I'm doing a driver for the Vantage Q system. All I have is the protocol documentation, and it doesn't really give much in the way of big picture information about what the Q system is and is made up of, and that's kind of making it hard for me to see that big picture. There seems to be a massive dearth of information about this system on the net, or I'm just not looking for the right stuff. All the stuff on the Vantage web site seems to be mostly very fluffy stuff.


I have a demo unit that has a single MC (CLMNES050), a dimmer module (STDSEW240), an 8 button wall panel, a couple outlets, a rocker switch and a motion detector.
