I currently have co-axial cable from the dish to my HDTV tuner and component cables from the STB to the TV. My VCR is rather old and only has composite hook-up capabilities.

How do I get a signal from the STB to the VCR and maintain the integrity of the component hook-up to the TV? Can I have two outputs coming from the STB 1) component to the TV and 2) composite to the VCR?

Are you trying to record HDTV?

Your VCR won't do that.

See the other forum for HD Recording.

BC3,

You can only have one set of outputs live at one time. Your choice is either HDTV or SDTV (composite, S-Video). It is that way with most STB's.

My Samsung SIR-T150 outputs both component and s-video/composite at the same time.
