Is this a trick question? Both are 10" subs from the same manufacturer, and the 10X is the higher end and more expensive model.

The SPL doesn't employ the servo feedback technology of the HGS series, but it is a fantastic sub none the less. My SPL-1000 was the best sub that I ever owned, and the series II is improved.
