As I mentioned on another VX10 thread, I've owned a VX10 for over 2 years and I have experimented with placement and settings. I've found that due to lower input sensitivity, using a Y connector and setting the line level output to 5 or 6 makes a big difference in over all performance, but you need to leave your self a least 3 or 4 db of head room. You can then adjust the gain on the sub to achieve the proper output. Velodyne recommends a setting around 9.0'clock but I think that's a bit low and too general, not leaving much room for adjustment. However I don't recommend going much higher then 12. With proper placement and calibration the VX10 is very capable in a smaller room. I never experienced any strain or port noise even with the most demanding sound tracks and contrary to some critics beliefs, it can vibrate the walls when it needs to.
