BTW, Standard U.S. Mail = Media Mail. So you might want to spring for the Priority Mail or better. I've heard that Media Mail is "almost as quick" as Priority is you use Zip Code + 4 (i.e., your 9-digit zip).

Of course not. For those who ordered t2 from Best Buy:


1. Find your order number for your T2 pre-order at BestBuy.com


2. You can't cancel your order on the internet. Instead, phone 1-888-237-8289; when prompted, press or say "5"; when prompted, press or say "4"


3. Give the nice person your phone number (the one you entered when you registered at their web site), your order number, and your e-mail address.


4. Ask the nice person to cancel your order.


5. Seven minutes later you'll receive an e-mail saying your order is cancelled.


6. Place your new order with BestPrices and save, save, save.


UPDATE ON BESTPRICES:


Two tapes ship for $5.50 (Standard - Media Mail); $9.00 Priority Mail; and $9.50 Fedex 2-day. I don't know whether multiple tapes will be shipped separately or together.

I think you have found the cheapest prices so far. $45 retail is too high. I know we are getting 1080i versions and should be happy but $35 is a better retail price. At $35 retail I would buy more tapes than at $45. Hopefully the price of these will drop after a while. T2 for $22 from bestprices is great! Gee, I have probably only owned about 4-5 different versions of this movie including Laserdisc and DVD but I am most excited about the D-VHS version.

I think the best way to tell the industry that we want low prices is to give our business to the vendors that offer low prices. I'm sure Milton Freeman would agree (i.e., the invisible hand of capitalism, free market economics, etc.).


Of course, those who don't believe this should instead show their support by paying list price plus $24 per tape express shipping. ]

I did just that. I cancelled my order for Terminator 2 at Buy.com and ordered Terminator 2 and U 571 from Best Prices.com for a total of $59.86 (shipping was $4.50 for both). Won't ship until after June 11th, however, from Calif. (I'm in Florida).


Like Mike (mbw23) this will make my third copy of T2. I have to stop being a compulsive buyer.

Is there a reason they don't specifically list this as a D-Theater or D-VHS tape? For whatever reason they simply list it as "VHS" with a note that it's "HD".

Here are the highlights of the annoucement at the WSR D-VHS site today:


X-Men will also be released on June 10 (change from June 11) with T2, Peacemaker, and U-571.


New titles for "later this year" include End of Days and Dirty Dancing.


No price yet for X-Men, even though its street date is 4 days from now.


The WSR site has lowered its prices for the first three titles! (in response to pressure from AVS Forum members?)
